Event Description

Ted and Elizabeth Sawyer-Bayliss

warmly invite you to the

Peace Place Gathering

WEDNESDAY,

7th March, 2012

Topic : 'One Foot in the Wilderness'

A human life, I think, should be well rooted in some spot of a native land, where it may get the love of a tender kinship for the face of the earth, for the labours men go forth to, for the sounds and accents that haunt it, for whatever will give that early home a familiar unmistakeable difference amidst the future widening of knowledge. The best introduction to astronomy is to think of the nightly heavens as a little lot of stars belonging to one's own homestead.

 George Eliot.

07:00 pm. PART ONE.

Light Food and Refreshments.

7:30 pm. PART TWO.

Local activist and sustainability 'pioneer', Ted Sawyer offers thoughts on the theme of 'A Place Where the Heart Is'. Discussing the nature of place and home and roots. Do we have the right to call any place our home, or is it rather our duty to do so.

8:00 pm. PART THREE.

All comers are invited to express a view and share words, stories poem or song in exploration and expression of issues raised.
