Greenpeace’s survival pods are used to occupy ships, oil rigs, ports and other strategic locations as we take non-violent direct action against environmental threats. A pod can keep a small team of activists fed, warm and dry as they face extreme weather and violent opposition like water cannons and projectiles during an action, enabling them to stay attached to a ship’s anchor chain for weeks at a time.

This year, with the Arctic at the forefront of Greenpeace's work, use of a survival pod is more important than ever before. Our two previous survival pods have been ‘confiscated in action’ and we have an urgent need to build a new pod to enable us to operate safely and effectively in the harsh environment of the Arctic – and anywhere else in the world we are needed.

JOIN OUR PUB QUIZ IN CENTRAL LONDON
The Islington Greenpeace Group has organised a fun night of ‘Pod fundraising’ and pub quizzing at the City of London Distillery in central London between 7pm - 11pm on the night of Saturday 4th May.

Geeky Greenpeace knowledge is not required and quiz topics will range from picture rounds to general knowledge so everyone stands a chance to win our fun prizes!

Places cost just £3.00 per person, and we'll register you as you arrive - please aim to come in teams of 3 – 6 people if possible. If you’d like to come alone or with one another person, we’ll pop you in the sociable ‘wildcard’ group.

Oh and there will be a bespoke ‘Greenpeas’ cocktail on offer at the bar on the night! We look forward to that one.
